About Us
Companions Educational Trust is a registered charity supporting home-educated Muslim children. We provide face-to-face group classes and a welcoming space for children to learn, play and socialise throughout the day. Our classes take place in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

All lessons are taught by qualified and experienced teachers.
We are not a school and we do not provide full-time education. All children who attend our classes are also learning at home or in other groups that they attend.
We expect that all children who join us will be respectful, well-behaved and as eager to learn as our current students.
Please contact us for more information about how to join our classes.
Our Mission
More children in the UK are being home-educated every year, including Muslim children. There are lots of reasons why Muslim parents are choosing home-education. For some, it is to protect their children from bullying, exposure to inappropriate behaviour, or discrimination and being treated with suspicion by school teachers because of their visibly Muslim appearance. Others disagree with the schooling system which elevates teachers to figures of authority and morality, over and above that of the parents. Many Muslim parents view the national curriculum as both inadequate and in some respects harmful to their deen. Our mission is to support all home-educated Muslim children to be educated in a way that is in accordance with their deen.
Our Classes
Little Companions is a drop-off class for children aged 7-8 and 9-12 on Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 3pm. Our children cover a range of subjects together including English, Arabic literacy, maths, science, history, geography and art.
Tiny Companions is for children aged 4-6 who attend alongside their parents. The class takes place every Tuesday from 1pm to 3pm. The core of the lesson is literacy and numeracy, followed by free play or arts and crafts. Each term the children will complete an activity in a new subject, e.g. the solar system.
